July 4th – Macy’s Fireworks!

Made it out to the Brooklyn Promenade with a few friends to capture the fireworks display. I was probably more excited about it than they were!! :)   A sea of anxious spectators, NYPD; and when the rain came, a sea of umbrellas!! Despite the rain, I stood firm with the camera and tripod, determined to get my shots.  Keeping water off my lens was a losing battle, so I shot away. One guy there had a huge Ziplock bag over his Nikon, but he lost that battle and eventually took it off.

Here are a few of my shots.  I think I did pretty good for first-time-fireworks-shooting.

As the smoke clears….ominously looking sky, isn’t it?

  1. Not bad, my dude! I say that even though I was out there, I know how hard it was. Between all the people, rain, and umbrellas, it was a dogfight.
