FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is being a photographer your full time job?
A: No, at least not yet. I am an Information Technology professional by day.
Q: How long have you been shooting?
A: I have loved photography since I was a child playing with my parents Polaroid, but I have used different cameras until I was able to purchase my first DSLR in 2006 and got hooked.
Q: Do you have your own photography studio?
A: At the present time, I do not have a dedicated studio.
Q: What do you or what can you shoot?
A: Anyone can pick up a camera and take a picture, but something has to stand out, the photo must convey some sort of emotional-how-did-he-do-that-ooooh-ahhhh factor when it is viewed. I can shoot a broad range of things, from inanimate objects, life in New York City, on up to the more demanding wedding assignments.
Q. What is your shooting style?
A: I’d like to call it photojournalist. I am not a fan of the posey-posey shots, only when necessary. The BEST photos are generally captured when the individual(s) are not aware of the cameras presence.
Q: Do you work with other photographers during events?
A: I currently work alone.
Q: What kind of photography gear do you have & use?
A: I use Canon equipment with various lenses and accessories.
Q: What’s your favorite thing/event to shoot and why?
A: I have developed a keen interest in wedding photography. Though demanding, and no room for error, I have an opportunity to capture create moments that will be cherished years to come. Being able to build a relationship with a couple and their families beyond their wedding date is absolutely priceless.
Q: Why is your pricing the way it is for photo sessions?
A: I think my pricing is reasonable for most people, I have been told to charge more, but at this time I choose not to be unreasonable. What you are paying for is time and the quality of work. I am not the best photographer, but I DO know what I’m doing. Rather than do a 30-minute rush shoot with average looking photos, I would rather spend 2 hours with you knowing without question that we got THE shot!
Q: Do you print your own photos?
A: I do not do printing, however, I do have the ability to order prints from a photo lab through my website if need be. I provide photos via e-mail or burned to CD. Printing is a bit of a hassle, and I’m not as fancy or established as Sears Portrait Studios et al. I leave the printing choices to the client.
